Devotional April 18, 2015
During those many days the king of Egypt died, and the people of Israel groaned because of their slavery and cried out for help. Their cry for rescue from slavery came up to God. And God heard their groaning, and God remembered his covenant with Abraham, with Isaac, and with Jacob.
Even though it had been hundreds of years since God had mad His covenant with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, He remembered it and kept it.
God doesn’t break his promises, even if it’s been a really long time. That means that if He promises something to me, He’ll do it. I should keep promises I make too. If I say I’m going to do something, I need to do it the same way God keeps His promises.
Dear Father, thank you for always keeping your promises and I pray that you will help me to keep my promises and not to make promises I won’t keep. In Jesus’ name, amen.
