For even when we were with you, we would give you this command: If anyone is not willing to work, let him not eat.
2 Thessalonians 3:10
Paul was saying that the thessalonians shouldn’t be providing for people who aren’t willing to do any work.
I should come to everything in my life with an attitude that I won’t get anything if I’m not willing to work. This isn’t to say that God won’t provide blessing that I didn’t earn, but that I shouldn’t have an attitude of entitlement.
Dear Father, I thank you for the blessing you give me and for the ability to work to gain more. I pray that you will help me to not get an attitude of entitlement and always be willing to work for and pay for anything given to me. In Jesus’ name, amen.
