Devotional June 5, 2015
My son, eat honey, for it is good, and the drippings of the honeycomb are sweet to your taste. Know that wisdom is such to your soul;if you find it, there will be a future, and your hope will not be cut off.
The proverbist (proverbalizer?) is comparing the taste of honey to how good wisdom is.
It seems like wisdom is just a good thing to have, but this verse is saying that it’s sweet to the soul. I should want to have wisdom the same way that I want to eat candy or donuts or cake.
Dear Father, I pray that you will give me a desire for wisdom and that it will be sweet to me the same way honey is sweet to eat. In Jesus name, amen.
