He who is often reproved, yet stiffens his neck,
will suddenly be broken beyond healing.
This proverb is saying that if someone who is corrected many times doesn’t ever change, eventually they will be broken.
I need to be willing to change when I am corrected. If someone tells me I have something wrong with me, I need to adjust my life and attitude accordingly, even if that person isn’t someone who I think should be correcting me, or if I don’t agree with what they are correcting me for. If I stiffen my neck, eventually I will break.
Dear Father, I pray that you will remind me to take correction to heart and that I will let that correction change me even if I don’t agree with it or I don’t like the person giving it to me. In Jesus name, amen.
