Devotional July 20, 2015
When the sun rose, God appointed a scorching east wind, and the sun beat down on the head of Jonah so that he was faint. And he asked that he might die and said, “It is better for me to die than to live.” But God said to Jonah, “Do you do well to be angry for the plant?” And he said, “Yes, I do well to be angry, angry enough to die.” Jonah 4:8-9
God caused things to happen to make Jonah uncomfortable. When he got uncomfortable, Jonah wanted to die.
God causes things that seem bad in our lives that make us uncomfortable. My response shouldn’t be like Jonah. I should feel uncomfortable, but still thank God for my life and for His grace.
Dear Father, I pray that as you cause me to be uncomfortable in my life, I would still praise you and not complain like Jonah did. In Jesus name, amen.
