I had a couple today. Here’s the first one.
But Peter and the apostles answered, “We must obey God rather than men.
Peter and the rest of the apostles were told not to preach in Jesus’ name. They responded that they must obey God and not men.
I must take the same stance in my life. When laws and rules are made that oppose God, I must break those laws and obey God instead.
Dear Father, I pray that you would give me the courage and the will to obey your law above the laws of this world. In Jesus’ name, amen.
And now here’s the second.
Then they left the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer dishonor for the name.
The apostles were beaten and told not to preach about Jesus, but afterwards they left rejoicing that they were able to suffer for Jesus’ name.
I too must rejoice when I am counted worthy to suffer dishonor for Jesus’ name.
Dear Father, I pray that I would have this attitude when I am persecuted for your name. In Jesus’ name, amen.
