4 Awesome Bible Stories You May Have Missed!
I’ve read the Bible a bunch of times. I know the story of Noah, Moses, Ruth, Daniel, Jesus, Paul, John and a whole mess of others. But there are so many stories in the Bible that it’s easy to miss one or two of them, even if you read them. Here is a list of 4 totally awesome Bible stories that you may have missed.
#1 Jael’s Tent Peg
(Judges 4:17-24) There was a huge battle. Sisera (leader of the bad guys) fled from the battle and rode his horse to safety. As he was riding, he passed the tent of Jael. She came out and said “Sisera, come stay with me in my tent.” So Sisera went into her tent and laid down. He was tired and worn out, so he asked Jael for some water. Instead of water, she gave him some milk and put a blanket on him so he’d fall asleep. When she was sure he was asleep, she took a tent peg and hammered it into his head, all the way into the ground. Needless to say, Sisera died.
#2 “Go Up, You baldhead!”
(2 Kings 2:23-24) Elijah had just been taken up into the heavens and Elisha was taking his place. One of the first things that Elisha did after his mentor had been taken to heaven is a bunch of kids (at least forty two of them) came out and started making fun of him. What does Elisha do? He does what any self respecting prophet of God would do, he curses them and two she-bears come out of nowhere and tear the kids up.
#3 Aaron Stops God’s Plague
(Numbers 16:41-50) During the forty years in the wilderness, the people of Israel made God mad. They made Him really mad. They made Him so mad that one day when they came and grumbled against Moses, Aaron and God, God told Moses and Aaron to get out of the way because He was going to kill them all. Suddenly a plague started on the other side of the camp. People started dropping down dead one right after the other. Moses told Aaron to get some of the fire from the tabernacle and go atone for the people of Israel. Aaron ran, holding a censer with the fire and some incense towards the wave of dying people, until he stood between the living and the dead. The plague stopped where Aaron stood. 14,700 people died before Aaron stopped it.
#4 Naked Guy
(Mark 14:51-52) Jesus and His disciples are in the Garden of Gethsemane. Jesus just finished praying and a bunch of guards show up with Judas. Judas kisses Jesus and the guards seize Jesus and take him away. All of the disciples flee and the only person who follows Jesus is a no named young man. The weird thing is that this young man is only wearing a linen cloth (undies). The guards notice that he’s following them, so they grab him. They get ahold of the linen cloth but he is able to run away completely naked.
